Friday Five: Whatcha doin'?

From Reverend Mother at RevGalBlogPals:
Well friends, this is one of those weeks when I simply must work today, which is normally my day off. I know, I know. We may tut-tut all we want, but the fact is, some weeks are like that. So, this week's F5 is simple. Name five things you plan to do today.

The Typist and I are playing together today. Here's what we're doin':

Typist: Work from home. Friday is my telecommuting day.
Cub: Nap on my couch. Did you know I have my own couch?

Typist: Pick up a refill of one of Cub's prescriptions.
Cub: Hang out in the backyard while The Typist is gone.

Typist: Greet friend Doc, who is coming in from out of town later.
Cub: Doc? Coming over? Dogs LOVE Doc! I'll lick him as long as he'll let me!

Typist: Recommend a friend for the Peace Corps. Just submitted it online!
Cub: Chase The Boy. It's a daily discipline.

Typist: Go to a concert... I hope. I haven't bought the tickets yet, and it doesn't start until past my bedtime.
Cub: Patrol the perimeter.

Bonus: If today is about "have-to" for you as well, share up to five things you'd like to be doing today.

Typist: I'm pretty happy with today for what it is, but I always like the opportunity to have lunch with a friend. Which probably won't happen today.
Cub: You know, I haven't gone for a swim in a while. That would be fun!

Sounds like a great day...my dogs will be doing much the same, only they don't like to swim. I don't understand it, being a Viszla and a Lab-mix, but it's true. They do love Dog Park, sadly today is TOO muddy for the park :-(

Not that dogs would mind the mud...

Wow...what a good kind of busy day!

My daughter found a basset puppy yesterday and named her Dixie. She is still too little to have her own couch.

Too cool! It's great when you and your Typist can blog together. Head pats and under-the-chin scritches to you, Pup.

Heehee, Mindy -- she found a Dixie Pup! Too cute. Hope it's a wonderful partnership.

Oh, and hedwyg, I just startled her from her nap with your head-pats and chin-scritches. But she didn't seem to mind too terribly much. ;-)

Hey Cub,

You're so lucky. I love your list.

My mom never lets me hang out in the backyard while she's gone. I don't think she trusts me.

The human girl chases me. But I do chase the squirrel and bunny out of our yard daily.

I don't have my own couch, I have to share it with my peeps. But I make sure the girl is at the far end.

And they won't let me have my own blog. It's just not fair!

Sounds like a pleasant day for both of you.

If you're planning to go to the earlier concert, I inquired & was told to get there about 6-ish, but since you're saying closer to bedtime, I'm thinking the later show without kiddos -
LOVE THEM!! I don't think we'll make this one... :(

that concert looks great- different but great- enjoy it...

and cub, hope you get a swim soon!

Yes, ElastiGirl, we're planning on the one for "big kids" that's supposed to kick off at 10 (read: 11-ish...). And my accountability group meets at 8 on Saturday mornings...
Went last year, had a blast, and they gave me permission to do "Closer to the Truth" in church! Took a few months of waiting for the right scripture passage to come around on the sermon plan, but it worked well.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Yep, Fenway is a baseball doggie too, although his "socks" are a golden, reddish brown rather than true red.

Hubby is a Red Sox fan. Doggie had the reddish "socks" on on his legs. I just liked Cal Ripken & "Oriole" wouldn't fit. The Milwaukee Brewers were losing, losing, and losing and we hadn't discovered the Cubs yet.

And that is how Fenway got his name almost 10 years ago.

Hey Cub: When Typist is out y'all can fill the bathtub up halfway for a short lap pool kinda swim! I'll sneak you some tennis balls for water fetch!

Sounds like a lovely day.

I should not dare to interrupt your more weighty affairs with a letter of mine, did I not hold you to be a disciple of Him who would not have the smoking flax quenched nor the bruised reed broken. But since I am entirely convinced of this, I beg of you that in your prayers and the prayers of the Church that sojourns with you, I may be commended to God, to be instructed in true poverty of spirit, in gentleness, in faith, and love of God and my neighbor. And, whenever you have a little leisure, do not disdain to offer to God this short prayer, which I have heard frequently offered by your brethren at Savannah (would they were mine also!):

Then the dauntless mind
Which, to Jesus joined,
Neither life nor treasure prizes,
And all fleshly lusts despises,
Grant him, Highest Good,
Through Thy precious blood.

God's most humble servant, I remain,
John Wesley

Hi Cub--Patrolling the perimeter is always near the top of my agenda, too. Other items on today's to-do list include:

1. sleeping
2. barking at the UPS truck
3. leaping to my feet to follow Mom whenever it looks like she might be headed toward the kitchen

Well, actually, all of those items are on my list EVERY day! Have a fun weekend--

Amie

I tried to talk the Giver Greenies into a nap, but she mumbled something about "paper" -- whats up with that?
